David Christian Gardner, Sr., 56 of Madison Heights, husband of Carmela Gardner, passed away at his home on Monday, April 03, 2017.

He was born on July 23, 1960 in Newport, AR, son of the late Buford Milton Gardner, Sr. and Mable Virginia Gardner.

David was retired from the United States Navy and was employed as an air traffic controller at the Lynchburg tower. He loved and attended NASCAR races.
An avid college football fan, he loved his Arkansas Razorbacks, as well as, gardening and working in his yard.

He was born on July 23, 1960 in Newport, AR, son of the late Buford Milton Gardner, Sr. and Mable Virginia Gardner.

David was retired from the United States Navy and was employed as an air traffic controller at the Lynchburg tower. He loved and attended NASCAR races.
An avid college football fan, he loved his Arkansas Razorbacks, as well as, gardening and working in his yard.

David was the youngest and last surviving of six brothers and in addition to his wife, he is survived by, four sons, Paul Christian Gardner and wife Yesenia of Austin, TX, David Christian Gardner, Jr. of Branford, CT, Ryan Michael Gardner of Wichita Falls, TX, and Ryleigh Brandyn Gardner of Madison Heights. He is also survived by his eldest sibling, his sister, Karen J. Gardner of Lawton, OK as well as five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 -8 pm on Thursday April 6, 2017 at Whitten Funeral Home, Monelison Chapel.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, April 7, 2017 at Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors.
