Frances Brown Foster, 95, of Monroe passed away Sunday, January 07, 2018, at Fairmont Crossing. She was the wife of the late Edwin Owen Foster.

Born September 24, 1922, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late John William Brown and Rosa Henson Brown and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eva B. Meador and Evelyn B. Staton and a great-grandson, Graysen Foster. Frances was a retired machine operator for the Dale Garment Company, where she served for 35 years. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church...

Born September 24, 1922, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late John William Brown and Rosa Henson Brown and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eva B. Meador and Evelyn B. Staton and a great-grandson, Graysen Foster. Frances was a retired machine operator for the Dale Garment Company, where she served for 35 years. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Pleasant View.

Frances is survived by three children, Kelly Foster (Helen) of Shipman, John Foster (Elizabeth) of Monroe and Wanda F. Gilbert (David) of Amherst; two siblings, Elmo Brown and his wife Mary of Monroe and James Brown (Louise) of Monroe; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at New Prospect Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Foster Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
