Lawrence "Larry" Franklin Ennis, Sr. 66, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at his residence.

Born on August 5, 1950 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Lawrence Edward Ennis, and Dollie Fitzgerald White. Larry served our country in the United States Navy. He was an electrician for SW & B and he enjoyed working on cars and trucks, hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. Larry's great enjoyment was spent with his children and grandchildren.

Lawrence "Larry" Franklin Ennis, Sr. 66, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at his residence.

Born on August 5, 1950 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Lawrence Edward Ennis, and Dollie Fitzgerald White. Larry served our country in the United States Navy. He was an electrician for SW & B and he enjoyed working on cars and trucks, hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. Larry's great enjoyment was spent with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Earl Ennis.

Larry is survived by his children, Melissa Ennis Henley, Lawrence Franklin Ennis, Jr. and wife Vickie, and John Edward Ennis and wife Kristen; six grandchildren, Kristi Renee Evans and husband Hunter, Cody Ennis, Kayla Morgan Ennis, Kasey Abigail Ennis, and Noah Isaac Ennis; one great granddaughter, Darla'Anne Marie Evans; siblings, Wayne Ennis and wife Juanita, Jimmy Ennis and companion Lura Tyree, Loretta Campbell, and Regina Wrenn and husband Keith; special niece, Kim Angus and husband Gary and their children Caleb, Matt, and Michael Angus; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the residence of his daughter, Melissa, 135 Kershaw Dr., Rustburg, VA 24588.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Carlton Duck officiating. Interment will follow at Meade Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the American Legion Post 36.
